The public pathway connection in St. Lorenz Süd has been restored! On August 26, 2021, the Lübeck City Council decided, at the request of the SPD, to purchase the land of the former Reusch nursery at Moislinger Allee 66. The goal was to create a public green space, as this district has very few such areas.
Another important goal was to open the path through the old nursery for the citizens. This reopening has already taken place but went largely unnoticed by the public. To properly celebrate the new green space and the restored path, the SPD invites all neighbors to a small celebration.
The celebration for the opening of the free space “Alte Gärtnerei” will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM under the old walnut tree. Here, the new training facility of the Lübeck City Gardening will also be presented, where trainees will redesign the area in the coming months.
Planned are, among other things:
An orchard
Urban Gardening (community gardening by residents and schools)
A mini forest and “climate trees”
Practice beds and greenhouses
A small pond
The path through the Alte Gärtnerei has already been established and is illuminated.
